Gosia Wojas is an artist working within a practice-led interdisciplinary research that considers concepts of materiality, subjectivity and performativity within human and artificial contexts.

She holds an MFA in Art from University of California, Irvine with a Critical Theory emphasis from UCI's School of Humanities (2022), and a BFA in Fine Art from California Institute of the Arts (2019).

Her writing has been published in: MATTER - Journal of New Materialist Research (Universtity of Barcelona, 2023), Flat Journal (University of California, Los Angeles, 2022), and Material-i-ty (2021). 

She has recently participated in research conferences at the Institute of Philosophy, at KU Leuven in Belgium (2023); the Research Institute Facta Ficta, at the Department of Comparative Studies of Civilization at the Jagiellonian University and the Institute of Linguistics and Literary Studies at Siedlce University, Poland (2024); and the World Ethical Data Forum (2022), among others.

Wojas’ work has been included in exhibitions and perfomances at University Art Gallery at UC Irvine, UCLA New Wight Biennial, ONE Archives gallery in Hollywood (collab. with Emily Lucid), Fluxus festival at the MAK Center, CalArts Dance festival at Geffen Contemporary, and Phase Gallery in Los Angeles, as well as Cyfroteka, Poland, among others.  

Between the years of 2011-2021 Wojas founded and run The Absent Museum and Projekt Papier, organized talks, readings, screenings and collaborated on workshops, working within a conceptually-based social practice. Her projects were shown at the Łaźnia Art Center, Gdańsk, Poland, Feminist Center for Creative Work, Los Angeles,  CalArts, Valencia, and Printed Matter LA, among others.
