Gosia Wojas is an artist working through installation, sculpture, moving image, and theory-as-form to reflect on the transformative and plastic notions of materiality and performativity. 

Wojas holds an MFA in Art from University of California, Irvine with a Critical Theory emphasis from UCI's School of Humanities (2022), and a BFA in Fine Art from California Institute of the Arts (2019).

Her writing has been published in MATTER - Journal of New Materialist Research (University of Barcelona, 2023), Flat Journal (University of California, Los Angeles, 2022), and Material-i-ty (2021), a publication she also edited.

Wojas has recently participated in research conferences at the Research Institute Facta Ficta (Department of Comparative Studies of Civilization at the Jagiellonian University and the Institute of Linguistics and Literary Studies at Siedlce University), Poland (2024);  the Institute of Philosophy, at KU Leuven in Belgium (2023);  and the World Ethical Data Forum (2022), among others.

Her work, which includes video, sculpture, site specific intervention, collective reading and performance, has been shown at the Arte Laguna, Arsenale Nord, Venice, Italy (2024), University Art Gallery at UC Irvine, and Phase gallery Los Angeles; Cyfroteka, Poland (2022), ONE Archives gallery in Hollywood (collab. with Emily Lucid), UCLA New Wight Biennial (2021), Fluxus festival at the MAK Center, CalArts Dance festival at Geffen Contemporary (2019), among others.  

Between the years of 2011-2021 Wojas founded Projekt Papier and The Absent Museum, and presented special projects at California Institute of the Arts, Valencia (2019), Łaźnia Art Center, Gdańsk, Poland (2018), Women’s Center for Creative Work, Los Angeles (2016), Souterrain gallery, at the Hoffmann Collection, Berlin, Germany (2012; hosted by Cara Benedetto), among others.
